Iroko(scientific name: Miliciaexcelsa, M. regia; synonyms Chlorophoraexcelsa, C. regia), has a heartwood of yellow to golden/brown color. Sapwood is pale yellow and clearly distinguishable from the heartwood. Its texture is medium to coarse, has open pores and grain is interlocked.
Iroko is commonly found in tropical Africa. It is very durable and is resistant to rot and insect attack.
